ZIMBABWE

Mosi-oa-Tunya ‘the smoke that thunders,’ refers to the Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. It was named after Queen Victoria by David Livingston when he discovered it in 1855. This iconic and magnificent sight is one of the main attractions to Zimbabwe. It is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe with a width of 1,708 meters (5.604 ft) across. The Zambezi river feeds the falls and is a magnificent sight during the rainy season from late November to April. It is a great place for the adrenalin activites like white water rafting, swimming the Devil’s Pool and bungy jumping off the bridge. Sunset cruises on the Zambezi are a must at the end of the day or a long journey.

It has a variety of great safari camps like Hwange, Mana pools or those around Kariba Dam, home to the Nile crocodile and other magnificent wildlife.

Zimbabwe is making a come back in the tourist industry and well worth a visit once again.
